It is a women’s rights organization in Uganda founded in 2010 to enhance the status and visibility of women and Girls to fight for Climate Justice and Women’s Health. RUWONET is a registered NGO under the provisions of the Non-governmental Organizations Act Cap.113 laws of Uganda. The organization was incorporated in Kampala, Uganda. Since 2010, RUWONET has invested in addressing issues affecting women’s Health, Climate Justice, and economic self-sufficiency.

WHAT WE DO

Rural Women Empowerment Network has invested wisely in fighting for Climate Justice through practicing Smart Agriculture, Restoration, Advocacy and Innovations.

Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) for Women

The assumption is that if women have full access to SRHR, they will have access to family planning, counseling, information and education as well as services related to dealing with unwanted pregnancies like prevention, provision of safe abortions, fertility related services, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and active discouragement of harmful traditional practices such as female genital mutilation thus improvement of their livelihoods.

Our Objectives

  • To promote Gender Equality by Addressing Barriers that Prevent the Full Participation of Women in Public Life

  • To Empower Women to Fight for Climate Justice.

  • Women’s Health, Women’s health needs are In the wake of rising HIV, cancer, and maternal deaths amongst women, RUWONET designs health awareness, advocacy, and care services at the grassroots level aimed at addressing women’s mortality.

  • To Promote Entrepreneurial Skills amongst Women

  • To Combat all Forms of Violence against Women
